Happy Birthday, Big Bad Wolf was written and illustrated by Frank Asch. It was published by Kid Can Press in 2011.

Big Bad Wolf goes to the Pig family’s house. Little Pig has a big heart and lets the wolf in. They celebrate his birthday (which was two weeks ago) and try to escape. But the tears of the wolf bring the pigs back and they all become good friends.

This story is about the pigs deceiving the wolf. There are quite a few white lies told by the pig family but by the end Little Pig’s generosity and kind heartedness convinces the wolf not to eat swine...

The illustrations are done by a computer. The wolf wears a funky blue vest and really doesn’t look that mean. I don’t think these illustrations took that long to make... the background in the house is usually one color (quite often... yellow). There really isn’t very much detail in the house... If you’re interested in picture books that focus on “amazing” art, I don’t think this is the book for you.

The story is average... some of the text can be a bit long on some pages. The message of the book is to have a big heart even for your enemies.
