I Can Do It Myself was written by Diane Adams and illustrated by Nancy Hayashi. It was published in 2009 by Peachtree Publishers.
Emily Pearl is a stubborn little girl. She want to do everything by herself and tells her mother to back off every time she’s offered help. By the end of the story, she realizes a little help is a good thing.
The rhyming of this story is well done and the placement of the text in/around the illustrations is well laid out.
I’m surprised that the mother didn’t get angry with Emily Pearl in this story since she sure makes a mess out of things and does many things wrong.
Children can be amusing but I’m sure every parent gets fed up with their child/children when they start resisting and not listening.
