Happy Birthday Bunny! was written by Liz Garton Scanlon and was illustrated by Stephanie Graegin. It was published by Beach Lane Books in 2013.
This story is about a three year old bunny and her birthday. She is very curious about everything and why this special day is all about her.
Happy Birthday Bunny! is a simple story about a young bunny. I can’t remember my earliest birthdays but I’m sure they were special.
The little bunny in this story is very curious. She asks questions to the people around her about everything that happens with who, what, why questions. Children sure can be curious.
The answers are always responded by rhyme.
Most of the illustrations are set in the house. The illustrator does a good job of stuffing lots of characters in the scenes. I also liked how one of the cameras when everyone is taking pictures is a cellphone. It made me realize that I was reading a children’s book written in the 21st century.
The inside of the dust jacket mentions that this book is for children age 2 to 5... since the story has absolutely no tension, I would say this is an appropriate age group.
Happy Birthday Bunny! is a good book for parents to show to their kids to make them enjoy and anticipate their birthdays.
