124 - A Perfect Day by Carin Berger- children's book review

A Perfect Day was written and illustrated by Carin Berger. It was published by Greenwillow Books in 2012.

The are many children in a small village and they enjoy winter. They do all the “usual” winter activities.

The story is quite simple and A Perfect Day is a fairly quick read.

The illustrations/collage is done in a mysterious way. There are bits of writing, typed pages and thin inked lines in the background. What it’s all supposed to mean brings a question mark above my head.

For children winter can be the most exciting time of year. Once you become an adult it may be worst season since you’ve got to shovel snow, change the car tires, pay extra money for the heating bill. Sometimes we forget how much fun this season can be.

The art in this book is pretty strange but in a good way. The children look like humans with bird faces... every page gives us a feel of the countryside. I’m sure children who live in warm climate countries would find this book interesting.
